good binoculars for stargazing - get the right pair the first time

Once you've looked through them, you want to see everything through your binoculars, they make everything closer and clearer. Since the light has been refracted, or bent as it has been directed through the lenses, by the time the viewer sees the image it is back to front, and upside-down.

Binoculars have two specifications marked on the body of the binocular in the form of 7x 50, where the first number represents the magnification, in this case 7 times, and the second the aperture ,50mm in this case. Pre-moistened lens cloths give safe protection to your lens. If you go over 10x, you should consider getting a tripod.

The lens size does not indicate lens quality, however the larger the lens size the brighter the view and the larger the field of vision. Costlier monoculars with 30x or greater magnifications are made of better prisms and lenses. Binocular lens protectors drive water off the lens surface of both objective lenses and eyepieces, helping eliminate glare caused by water droplets.

Some binoculars come with special fire coating on the lenses. There is no such thing as one-size-fits-all when it comes to sporting optics.
