Binoculars are two mirror-symmetrical and identical telescopes mounted side-by-side and aligned to point accurately in the same direction, permitting two-eye viewing. Raise binoculars to your eyes and you can see everything far away as if it was right in front of you.
You position your telescope to look at the Moon, you see craters, and find that soon as you go to call someone to take a look, they take a look and it is gone. Digital binoculars are a cheap alternative, and can be picked up for considerably less money, and usually have a built-in camera. Hunting is a rugged sport that puts demands on your equipment.
Numbers are used to describe the telescopic strength of the binoculars. But still, a good pair of night-vision binoculars will cost at least a thousand dollars. More magnification always means less field-of-view.
If your application is bird watching, theater or sporting events, a low powered binocular will suffice in most cases. A good warranty is your ticket to trouble free repair.
